Foritudeo Feline Seated Jaguar Sculpture — 91 cm

This seated Jaguar is poised, alert and quietly powerful, and it gives any garden, entrance or interior a real statement piece. The Kalahari Seated Cheetah Sculpture captures the animal at rest, head up and eyes forward, with its long tail curled around the base.

What sets it apart is the surface. The whole body is sculpted in layered, chiselled planes that look like hand-carved driftwood or wood carved with an adze. Every facet catches the light differently, so the piece looks different from each angle and at each time of day. The warm, weathered bronze-and-timber finish sits naturally among lawn, planting and stone. Indoors, it works just as well as sculptural art.

The cheetah is made from MGO (magnesium oxide), a strong, stone-like composite that suits both outdoor and indoor use. It is lighter than solid stone or cast concrete, so it's easier to place and move, and it keeps the solid presence of a heavier sculpture.

Styling inspiration

Set it on a lawn against a backdrop of shrubs or flowering garden beds, as in these photos. Or put it on a gravel or stone pad among ornamental grasses, succulents and native plantings for a safari-inspired landscape. For a formal look, use two either side of an entrance. Inside, it sits well against a plain rendered wall or in a double-height foyer, where the carved surface can be lit from the side.
