Grotta della Fonte – Handmade Italian Nativity with Lights & Fountain House

Handmade in Italy from cork, wood, moss and paper, Grotta della Fonte ("the grotto by the fountain") is a compact Italian presepe that brings a whole hillside village into a space just 40 cm wide.

At its heart, the Holy Family rests in a warmly lit grotto with a curved terracotta brick wall. Beside it stands a little stone fountain house with a tiled roof, where an electric pump sends water from the spout into the lattice basin, while a cork stairway climbs past dried grasses to the cottages above, each lit by small glowing lights. Every rock, roof and step is shaped by hand, so no two pieces are ever the same.

This is a rare collector piece from The Christmas Collection, with only 5 available. It is sized for a shelf, mantel or side table.
