Curated Bronze Busts

A portrait in bronze is made to be handed down. Send us a few photos of the person you'd like to honour, and our sculptors will model a lifelike bust by hand in clay, then cast it in bronze or brass. It's a one-of-a-kind keepsake for a home, a garden, an office or a memorial.

How it works

1. Send your briefUse the form below to upload clear photos from several angles: front, both sides and three-quarter. A short video helps us capture expression and character. Choose your size and metal, and add any inscription.
2. Receive your costingWe review your photos and reply with a quote. Typical turnaround is 8 weeks, and payment is made in three stages: a 40% deposit to start sculpting, 40% when you approve the clay model, and the 20% balance before dispatch. There's no obligation until you pay your deposit. See our bronze bust terms.
3. Sculpting in clayOnce you confirm, our sculptors model the bust by hand from your photos. We send you progress photos from every angle, like the ones on this page, so you can request changes before anything is cast.
4. Casting in metalWhen you approve the clay model, a mould is taken and your bust is cast in bronze or brass.
5. Finishing and inscriptionThe metal is hand-finished and patinated. If you choose personalisation, the name and/or short message are added at this stage.
6. DeliveryYour bust is carefully crated and delivered to you.

From clay to bronze

Here's a recent commission from start to finish. The bust is first built up in clay, and every detail is refined by hand: the face, the braided hair, the floral crown and the earrings. Then it's moulded and cast.
