A corner of an old Italian village, handmade for Christmas. Casa dei Coppi is a traditional Neapolitan presepe of weathered brick townhouses crowned with red terracotta roof tiles — the "coppi" of southern Italy. Balconies, tall glowing windows, mossy rooftops and bare winter branches rise above a cobbled courtyard, where the Holy Family shelters in a warmly lit brick alcove beside a little lattice wall fountain.
Every detail is shaped by hand from natural cork, wood, moss and paper — from the cracked flagstones to the aged brickwork and tiny balconies. Switch on the lights and the windows, rooftops and archways glow amber, as if the village were settling in for Christmas night, while the included electric pump keeps water flowing from the wall fountain.
A rare collector's piece. Handmade Italian presepi of this detail are seldom seen in Australia, and only 4 are available — a statement centrepiece to treasure every Christmas.
