Fès Losange Hand-Painted Ceramic Drum Basin

"Losange" is French for diamond or lozenge. The outside of this drum is wrapped in green-and-white diamonds that step around the basin like tumbling blocks, giving a crisp 3D effect. It is the most architectural design in the range, and the name says so plainly.

Product description

Fès Losange Hand-Painted Ceramic Drum Basin

This basin is handmade in Fès, a city known for centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It is clean and modern, with a sharp geometric edge.

The Fès Losange Basin keeps its pattern on the outside. Around the straight-sided drum runs a band of hand-painted diamonds in deep forest green and ivory. They are arranged so they seem to fold and step like tumbling blocks or a chevron parquet floor, and the brushwork in the green gives each diamond a subtle depth. Inside, the bowl is glazed plain bright ivory for a clean, calm contrast. A smooth ivory rim finishes the design.

Every diamond is painted by hand, so the pattern has a gentle irregularity and warmth that printed ceramics can't match. No two basins are quite the same.

The drum shape sits above the counter, so the geometric exterior is the star. It pairs well with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm plastered walls or timber vanities. It suits modern Mediterranean, mid-century, Art Deco, English country and luxury contemporary interiors. It is ideal for buyers who want pattern without a busy basin interior.

Made to order in your size

Each basin is made to order. Sizes start at 20 cm in diameter for compact powder rooms and guest bathrooms, and go up to larger statement sizes for main bathrooms and double vanities. Tell us your preferred diameter and your benchtop layout, and we'll confirm the dimensions, lead time and freight before production begins.
