This basin is handmade in Fès, a city with centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and glazed by artisans. It's simple, dramatic and very elegant.

The Fès Onyx Basin is glazed in deep, glossy black, inside and out. The finish is applied by hand, so it has a liquid depth that catches the light, with subtle tonal shifts across the surface. A polished gold rim frames the bowl, and the contrast between black and gold makes the basin a quiet statement piece.

Because the glaze is hand-applied, each basin has small variations that give it character and warmth. That sets it apart from mass-produced black basins, and no two are quite the same.

The rounded bowl sits above the counter. It pairs beautifully with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm plastered walls. It also looks striking against dark stone or timber. It suits Art Deco, moody luxury, monochrome, Parisian and luxury contemporary interiors, and brings real drama to a powder room or ensuite.

Made to order in your size

Each basin is made to order. Sizes start at 20 cm in diameter for compact powder rooms and guest bathrooms, and go up to larger statement sizes for main bathrooms and double vanities. Tell us your preferred diameter and your benchtop layout, and we'll confirm the dimensions, lead time and freight before production begins.

Care

Clean with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Dry after use to avoid water spots showing on the gloss black. Take extra care around the gold rim, and avoid scouring pads, bleach and harsh chemicals, which can wear the finish over time.

Each basin is hand-thrown and hand-glazed, so slight variations in glaze depth, tone, rim finish and dimensions are natural to the craft and part of its charm. Waste, pop-up and tapware are sold separately. Installation by a licensed plumber is recommended.
