This basin is handmade in Fès, a city known for centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It is rich, opulent and full of detail.

The Fès Émeraude Basin is painted in deep emerald green on ivory and covered almost entirely with pattern. Hundreds of small clover-like blossoms, curling tendrils and teardrop medallions fill the inside and outside walls, so little of the ivory ground shows through. At the base, a bold star frames the drain.

A polished gold rim runs around the top of the straight-sided drum. Against the deep green, it gives the basin a jewel-box look.

Every blossom and tendril is painted by hand, so the pattern has depth and movement that printed ceramics can't match. No two basins are quite the same.

The drum shape sits above the counter and shows the painted exterior as well as the interior. It pairs beautifully with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm plastered walls or dark timber vanities. It suits Moroccan, heritage, English country, moody luxury and maximalist interiors. It makes a lasting impression in a powder room or guest bathroom.

Each basin is made to order. Sizes start at 20 cm in diameter for compact powder rooms and guest bathrooms, and go up to larger statement sizes for main bathrooms and double vanities. Tell us your preferred diameter and benchtop layout, and we'll confirm dimensions, lead time and freight before production begins.

Care

Clean with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Take extra care around the gold rim: avoid scouring pads, bleach and harsh chemicals, which can wear the finish over time.

Each basin is hand-thrown and hand-painted, so slight variations in pattern, colour, glaze, rim finish and dimensions are natural to the craft and part of its charm. Waste, pop-up and tapware are sold separately. Installation by a licensed plumber is recommended.
