Fès Corolle Hand-Painted Ceramic Basin

This basin is handmade in Fès, a city known for centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It is romantic and full of movement, and unlike any other basin in the collection.

The Fès Corolle Basin has a softly scalloped rim, shaped by hand so that it rises and dips like the petals of a flower. The inside and outside are painted in deep cobalt blue on bright white: tulip-like blooms, curling tendrils, leaves and small rosettes spread across the whole surface. At the base, an eight-pointed star frames a sunburst around the drain. A fine cobalt-striped edge follows every curve of the scalloped rim.

Every petal and tendril is painted by hand, and every scallop is shaped by hand, so each basin is truly one of a kind.

The deep, straight-sided bowl sits above the counter, so both the painted exterior and the sculpted rim are on show. It pairs beautifully with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm plastered walls. It suits Moroccan, Mediterranean, coastal, French provincial and romantic heritage interiors. It makes a charming focal point in a powder room, guest bathroom or boutique hospitality space.
