This basin is handmade in Fès, a city known for centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It is classic Moroccan design in a single, serene colour.
The Fès Jade Basin is painted in soft jade green on warm ivory. At its centre, an interlaced rosette of arabesque petals circles the drain. Around it rise tall, arched medallions, each holding a scrolling calligraphic-style motif, with panels of fine dotted lattice between them. A woven-rope border and a jade glazed rim frame the design.
Every line is painted by hand, so the pattern has a softness and rhythm that printed ceramics can't match, and no two basins are quite the same. Because it uses one colour, the basin carries all the detail of a traditional Fassi design while feeling calm and easy to style.
The wide, flared bowl sits above the counter and shows off the full painted interior. It pairs especially well with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm rendered or tadelakt walls. It suits Moroccan, Mediterranean, heritage and luxury contemporary interiors, and brings a fresh, spa-like feel to ensuites and powder rooms.
