Fès Bleu Orange Hand-Painted Ceramic Basin

This is the most traditional basin in the range. Cobalt blue has been associated with Fès pottery for generations, so "Bleu" suits it well. It keeps the family consistent: Noir, Rosa, Verde, Corail, Bleu.

Product description

Fès Bleu Hand-Painted Ceramic Basin

This basin is handmade in Fès, a city famed for its ceramic heritage, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It is the classic Moroccan basin, rich in colour and pattern.

The Fès Bleu Basin combines three signature colours of Fassi pottery: cobalt blue, saffron and ivory. A deep cobalt glaze wraps the rim. Beneath it, saffron scalloped borders frame a band of fine black-and-ivory scales, each marked with a touch of green, like layered peacock feathers. Towards the centre, a garland of cobalt florals circles the drain. The outside of the basin repeats the scale pattern, so it looks just as good from the side as from above.

Every line and dot is painted by hand, so the pattern has a warmth and rhythm that printed ceramics can't match, and no two basins are quite the same.

The wide, flared shape sits above the counter and shows off the whole painted interior. It pairs especially well with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble and limestone benchtops, and carved timber or fretwork vanities. It suits Moroccan, Andalusian, Mediterranean and eclectic heritage interiors, and makes a real focal point in a powder room or guest bathroom.

Made to order in your size

Each basin is made to order. Sizes start at 20 cm in diameter for compact powder rooms and guest bathrooms, and go up to larger statement sizes for main bathrooms and double vanities. Tell us your preferred diameter and your benchtop layout, and we'll confirm dimensions, lead time and freight before production begins.
