This basin is handmade in Fès, a city known for centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. It's classic, crisp and timeless.

The Fès Chaouen Basin is painted in deep cobalt on bright white, with several bands of fine pattern. A cross-hatched border frames the rim, followed by a band of delicate scales and then a band of diamond lattice with small medallions. At the centre, an interlaced eight-pointed star with tulip sprigs circles the drain, set against open white that lets it stand out. The pattern continues around the outside, and a clean white rim finishes the wide, flared bowl.

Every line is painted by hand, so the pattern has a gentle rhythm and subtle irregularity that printed ceramics can't match. No two basins are quite the same.

The flared bowl sits above the counter and shows off its detailed interior. It pairs well with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, or with polished chrome and nickel for a crisper look. It also suits cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and white or warm plastered walls. It works in Mediterranean, coastal, Hamptons, French provincial and traditional Moroccan interiors, and brings a fresh blue-and-white look to a powder room, ensuite or beach house.

Each basin is made to order. Sizes start at 20 cm in diameter for compact powder rooms and guest bathrooms, and go up to larger statement sizes for main bathrooms and double vanities. Care

Clean with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals and scouring pads, which can dull the glaze over time.

Each basin is hand-thrown and hand-painted, so slight variations in pattern, colour, glaze and dimensions are natural to the craft and part of its charm. Waste, pop-up and tapware are sold separately. Installation by a licensed plumber is recommended.
