"Rubis" means ruby in French, which matches the bright red rim and scrolls. Red and green are also the colours of the Moroccan flag, which has a green star on a red field, so the red eight-pointed star at the centre fits the name too. It's the second oval basin in the range, after Fès Lys.

Fès Rubis Hand-Painted Oval Ceramic Basin

This basin is handmade in Fès, a city with centuries of ceramic craftsmanship, and each one is shaped and painted by artisans. Its bold colours and generous white space give it a lively, fresh feel.

The Fès Rubis Basin is painted in ruby red and deep green on bright white, with small saffron accents. A red eight-pointed star circles the drain, filled with green leaves and ringed by green sprigs tipped with saffron dots. Around the rim runs a flowing border of interlocking red and green scrolls, and the pattern continues around the outside. A glossy ruby-red rim frames the design. The open white base keeps the star centre stage.

Every line is painted by hand, so the design has a warmth and energy that printed ceramics can't match. No two basins are quite the same.

The oval shape sits above the counter and fits narrower vanities where a round basin would feel crowded. It pairs well with brushed brass or aged gold tapware, cream marble, limestone and travertine benchtops, and warm plastered walls or timber vanities. It suits Moroccan, bohemian, eclectic and Mediterranean interiors, and brings a confident splash of colour to a powder room or guest bathroom.

Care

Clean with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals and scouring pads, which can dull the glaze over time.

Each basin is hand-thrown and hand-painted, so slight variations in pattern, colour, glaze and dimensions are natural to the craft and part of its charm. Waste, pop-up and tapware are sold separately. Installation by a licensed plumber is recommended.
