The Ramo Floral Urn Planter is a graceful take on the traditional garden urn. At 80 cm high with a 44 cm wide rim, it's taller and slimmer than many urns, so it adds height and elegance without taking up much floor space. It works beautifully as a pair either side of a doorway, or as a row lining a path or driveway.

The highlight is the carved bouquet on the front: open daisies, smaller blossoms and leaves gathered with a ribbon, standing out in soft relief. Above it, a rim of carved leaves frames the top of the urn. Two loop handles sit on either side, and a fine decorative band separates the body from the fluted lower bowl. A ribbon-tied stem leads down to a wide, ribbed pedestal foot that keeps it stable.

The clean white finish shows off every detail in sun or shade. Plant it with white roses, hydrangeas, topiary, trailing ivy or seasonal colour. It suits classic, French provincial, Hamptons and Mediterranean styles.

The Ramo is made from sandstone cement fibre, a strong, weather-resistant material made for outdoor use. At around 23 kg, it's solid and stable once filled but still easy to position. It's made in one piece and has a drainage hole, so it's ready to plant straight away.

Planting tips

• Use a quality potting mix. Cover the drainage hole with mesh or a few pieces of broken pot so soil doesn't wash out.
• For heavy plants, or if you'd like to move the urn later, plant into a plastic liner pot that sits inside it.
• Place on a level, firm surface. Once filled with soil and plants it will be much heavier than its 23 kg empty weight.

Care notes

• Wipe with a soft brush or cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals and pressure washers.
• Avoid letting water pool around the base for long periods.
• In very cold areas, protect from frost by keeping the potting mix free-draining.
